The European KISTERS user conference for the business unit Water once again showed how much value you can create in just two days of intensive knowledge exchange: The just under 50 participants had a choice of almost 25 presentations and intensive workshops to attend. This year the focus was on extreme weather events – floods and drought – but there was definitely something for everyone on offer: data analytics, water quality, software development news and methods, forecasts and much more. Especially the keynote speech "From Storms to Droughts" by the Flood Forecasting Centre of the Environment Agency of England and the workshop "Is there a Life beyond WISKI" by the Flemish Environment Agency went down very well with everyone.
In between there were also opportunities to relax a little and network, as well as an evening event consisting of a boat trip and a dinner. The family atmosphere was much appreciated, it allowed the participants to easily meet people with similar challenges and problems.
We are very happy that we got – with only very few exceptions – only very good and good ratings for this years' user conference. "As usual, the event was very well organized. Good selection of topics and enough time for the discussion." is what one attendee had to say about the event.
A big thank you to all speakers and participants who contributed to the success of the event.
We are looking forward to meeting everyone again at the Water User Conference 2019. To keep informed and in touch, please register for the KISTERS Newsletter: [Newsletter registration].
